EVENT VAULT OF DEATH RENEWAL - EVENTS AND SALES

 您好, 巨龍!

Salutations, Dragons!

They say that, in strange eons, even Death may die. But we’re a ways away, so not only is Death alive and well, but it’s been given a total overhaul. The Vault of Death is now the source of greater challenge than ever, but promises new rewards in turn, and you can see what we’ve been doing with the place on our news post.

The Vault consists of two dungeons, Death Valley and the Valley of Hell, and it’s never been a better time to step into the shadows. So we’re giving away free passes every day, and featuring a special event version of the Vault, in the form of a solo endurance challenge.

Step into the Vault! You’ll return stronger than ever… if you return at all.

Death Lives!

The Vault of Death has been updated, but during our opening event, you can experience a version of the dungeon like you’ve never seen before. Every day, players will be able to claim three Sealed Vault Admission Tickets from the Event Reward system. By placing three passes into the entrance of Death Valley, you’ll be able to access a solo-only version of the dungeon, where you’ll have to survive six waves – two squads of normal monsters, and then facing off with each of the four twisted masters of the Vault, one at a time.

Each attacker you defeat will cough up a small number of Ming Qian, the currency of the dead. It’s not yet your time to bargain with King Yama over the fate of your immortal soul, so the only use for these coins is talking to Jyuck Sam in Hefei, who can attempt to craft them into various accessories for you.

Trade ya two catseyes for yer shooter!

If the stats on the accessories don’t exactly get you jumping out of your coffin, then consider holding on to them, as new uses may be added in our next update before the event ends.

Dragons who go the distance and endure all six rounds have a small chance at an additional prize – the name of the Lord of the Underworld himself! King Yama is known as Yanluo Wang in some circles, and if you’re both determined and lucky, then you’ll have permission to sport this epithet and show everyone that you’ve stood against everything that the dead can throw at you.

Thirty Days to Die

With the refurbishing of the Vault of Death, the delightful odor of molder and decay is sweetening the air. But bhat if you want to get into the spirit of the celebration, but can’t be bothered to hike all the way out to the Vault? Well, you can still get into the mood by donning your very own [Darkness] Naraka Wardrobe deco, which you can claim from the Event Reward window, and which will have you doing the dance of the dead for 30 days.

See? Nothing on the bottle about 'leave-in conditioner.' No wonder you're feeling a burning sensation."

If your day job is keeping you away from the Vault, you might be feeling self conscious about how you’re still swinging that Blue Stone Staff around while the hotshots are brandishing fancy new weapons. Luckily, you can also claim a Master’s RainWind Weapon of your choice from the Event Rewards to go with your costume, and which will last for the same 30 days.

"And what, pray tell, gave you the impression that I was looking to 'start something'?"

We’re rounding out this giveaway by giving away three [Hell] Vault of Death Pass along with the three daily Sealed Vault Admission Tickets from the bonus dungeon event, so you’ll have an extra free daily attempt at either dungeon’s highest difficulty, for the whole month.

Connection Rewards

We continue to tinker with daily and monthly prizes, in order to find a balance between making them feel worthwhile, without making it feel like you’ve done a day’s work just by showing up.

Our daily rewards are mostly familiar, but you can claim up to three additional Ming Qian for the event dungeon, via the Ming Qian Purse. And if you’re really lucky, you’ll receive the Yanluo Wang epithet.

The Sealed Bead (Excellence) and Tender Stone of Nine Divines from the monthly rewards are again tradable. Quite a few players claim that these items are one of their only sources of cash. So you’ll just have to watch your step around Bamboo Village.

The Kunlun Tier 2 Accessory Box is generally considered the “top” prize, but we’ve decided to lower the necessary log-in time to claim it, to give casual players a better chance at it. Hardcore Dragons who wish to go the distance can keep going if they wish to try for less valuable (but still worthwhile) prizes.

The new daily and monthly rewards will both be implemented on the first day of August.

Level-Up Rewards

Starting with this update, a new set of rewards will be provided for characters who reach specific level thresholds. Players can now expect a wider variety of items, and a more even spread of rewards. The list is far too long to print here, but expect to receive enough Ginseng and Ethereal Mushrooms to keep you healthy, EXP Bonus Cards, Tender Stones, Sealed Beads, lots of Couriers Guild Vouchers, and a few other surprises to help you make your way in the Land.

If those Rank 5 Guardians you’ve raised aren’t letting up over wanting a new owner, then the Super Guardian Chance Box will probably earn your attention – it’s the only source of Empty Stones, which can be filled with Guardian souls in order to convert them into a tradable form. Guardian enthusiasts in general will appreciate the many possible options this box provides for the adopting, rearing, feeding, and trading of their Guardian companions.

The rarest result, the [Superior] Four Guardians Spirit Box, contains a Seal Stone which houses one of the mightiest Guardians available. Each of the four has an equal chance of being found inside the box.

"How about I pick up the loot and go on scavenger hunts, and you can get roundhouse kicked in the face. Just for a while."

If you’re determined to collect those Ming Qian and can’t just stop at one daily attempt at the dungeon, you can purchase them directly from the shop, alone or in bulk. The Ming Qian Purse costs a little more than a single coin, but works out to a better value, since it can contain up to three coins. There’s also the chance of finding the Yanluo Wang epithet.

Very fine material. Very expensive.

...Mahogany.

Players who intend to hit the ground running for the revamped Vault of Death can consider the Darkness and Hell Hunter Chests. Both contain 30 plates, each of which is good for a single run of the dungeon at its respective difficulty (with stat, experience, & item drop bonuses, to boot). The cache of utility items in each chest adds up to a substantial discount, when compared to their total value when purchased individually.

You get what you see with the Dragon Scale(10) + Green Dragon Orb Package, but the discount is no less generous.

For the uninitiated, Dragon Scales can be applied to weapons, preventing them from being destroyed due to a failed refinement. If refinement DOES fail, the Green Orb will retrieve your lost weapon from oblivion, in the same state it was in when you lost it.

Notes & Bug Fixes

The Craft success rate for Blood Sorcerer (Repel) weapons has been greatly reduced. This isn’t much of a change, since only a handful have been produced this way, and the intended Create method involves a special Creating Guide which only works for these weapons.

In Gold Coins Mansion, the reward chest can no longer be looted until the dungeon boss is slain.

有空再會!

Thanks, and see you in the Land!
